Our cork board is for things that don't really belong anywhere else, especially things that are posted for a while and then disappear.

2008 Challenge for Bird Society Members!
CREATE A SANCTUARY FOR LOCAL BIRDS!
For 2008 the challenge is to make a sanctuary for local birds. Working singly or in teams (since not everyone owns property) create a bird-friendly habitat. We’ll be looking for sources of food (feeders or natural food), water, cover, and overall attractiveness. Size doesn’t matter but creativity does! Sterling Levy, our copy editor, and Past President of the Nova Scotia Garden Club, will be our judge. Send photos by e-mail or regular mail and a full description of the work you’ve done by August 1st, 2008, to mailto:suzanneborkowski@yahoo.ca or 18 Parmbelle Lane, Halifax, NS B3M 1N3. Photos of the winning sanctuary will be published in Nova Scotia Birds.
Note to participants in the Maritimes Breeding Bird Atlas: If you're a registered participant in the Atlas and also a member of the Nova Scotia Bird Society, you can receive a receipt for a charitable donation to the society for your mileage and out-of-pocket expenses. Forms with more information are available here:
